A friend of mine from Sweden made a wonderful almond cake. I have lost track of her and the cake recipe. The cake was made in a 8-9" round pan and was like an old fashioned pound cake. What made it really special was the topping. The topping was a crispy, sugary, buttery topping with almonds in it. She would also make it sometimes with an apple topping.
