Traci, in Arthur Schwartz's Naples At Table you will find a fabulous recipe for Casatiello. Perhaps you can check at your local Library. My book is in Florida otherwise I would have posted the recipe for you.

The recipe Gladys posted sounds good, however, if I recall correctly Arthur uses lard in the filling also.
