CHICHEME

1 libra de maíz pilado
8 tazas de agua
1 lata de leche crema
1 lata de leche condensada
1 cucharadita de sal
1 cucharadita de vainilla azúcar al gusto

Se pone a remojar el maíz, previamente lavado, desde el día anterior. Al día siguiente, se cocina con una cucharadita de sal hasta que el maíz esté bien suavecito. Se retira del fuego y se deja enfriar. Se le agregan las leches y la vainilla. Se endulza al gusto.

CHICHEME

1 pounded maize (corn kernels)
8 cups of water
1 teaspoon salt
1 tin sweetened condensed milk
1 milk tin cream
1 teaspoon vanilla sugar to taste

The day before serving, soak the corn kernels in 8 cups water.

On the following day, add the salt and cook until the corn is well done. Remove from heat and let cool.

Stir in the condensed milk and cream. Add vanilla sugar to taste.
