Roll The Can Ice Cream
1 lb clean coffee can 3 lb clean coffee can 1 1/2 cups rock salt 7 1/2 pounds crushed ice 1 cup whipping cream 1 cup milk 1 egg -- beaten 1/2 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/3 cup fruit
Mix cream, milk, egg, sugar, vanilla and fruit well and place in 1 lb coffee can. Cover can and place in center of the 3 lb can. Layer 1/2 the salt with 1/2 the ice in empty space between cans. Cover large can. Roll back and forth on large surface for 10 min. Open outer can; empty outer can of ice and water. Lift out smaller can, wipe lid and dry can. Scrape ice cream from sides to center. Stir and recover. Return to larger can and repack. Cover and roll an additional 5 min. or until desired firmness.
