My Gramma's recipe:

2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup butter
2 eggs separated
1 cup slivered almond slices

In bowl, mix flour, 1 cup sugar and cinnamon. Cut butter in small pieces. Work mixture until small crumbs form. Add egg yolks and blend well; shape dough into ball. Mix in beaten egg whites, rest of sugar and almonds. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 15 minutes or until lightly browned. cool and cut into bars.
