Kelly~WA (01:52:32) : BEER FRITTER BATTER
1 c Flour 1 Egg 1 tb Butter, melted 1 d Salt 1/2 c Beer
This is good not only for vegetables, but for seafood and chicken, as well as for fruit fritters, such as banana, pineapple, and apple. Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor and beat until batter is smooth. Let batter stand, covered, for 4 hours before using. Have vegetables well drained and patted dry if they have been washed. Dip in batter and fry in deep fat, 360 degrees, until golden.
RAY,.Cleveland,.OH (11:08:57) : FRESH BLUEBERRY SAUCE
(although recipe is written as Blueberry Sauce, my personal choice would be to experiment with other seasonal berries)
2 cups fresh blueberries 1/3 cup sugar 1 -tablespoon fresh lemon or lime juice 1/2 teaspoon vanilla Wash blueberries and crush in saucepan. Add sugar and fresh lemon or lime juice. Mix well. Bring to boiling point and boil 1 minute stirring constantly. Add vanilla. Chill. Serve over puddings, cake or ice cream.
Makes 1 1/2 cups.
recipelink.com (12:18:17) : Heloise's BBQ Sauce
1/4 c grated onion 1 Tbsp fat 1/2 c water 2 Tbsp vinegar 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce 1/4 c fresh lemon juice 2 Tbsp brown sugar 1 c chili sauce 1 tsp chili powder salt & pepper to taste
Place all ingredients in a large saucepan and cook over medium heat twenty minutes.
Note: Do not substitute catsup for chili sauce, or anything for the fresh lemon juice in this recipe. The result will not be satisfactory.
This sauce can be used for basting bbq spareribs, chicken or can be added to leftover roast beef for frozen dinners. If you have too much sauce for one batch of roast, put the extra sauce in a tightly covered jar and store in your refer or freezer.
