Louisiana Pinto Beans

1 lb bag pinto beans
1 1/2 qts water or chicken broth
3/4 cup each: chopped onion, chopped celery chopped bell pepper,
2 medium chopped jalapeno peppers
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp season all
1/4 tsp red pepper
2 teaspoons tobasco sauce
1 tsp sugar
salt and pepper to taste

boil all on high for 2 hours in crock pot, add water as necessary, simmer on low until very tender add your best brand of smoked pork sausage (cooked on a charcoal grill is best). Nothing beats the Down Home Brand of pork sausage but that probably only available in the NW Louisiana area)

Heat 10 minutes or so after sausage is added.
Serve over rice ... add La hot sauce as taste dictates.
