Recipe: Tres Leches Cake (Three Milk Cake)

TRES LECHES CAKE
(Three Milk Cake)

6 eggs (separated)
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. whole milk
1 Tbs. vanilla

Milk Mixture:
1 cup whole milk
1 can evaporated milk
1 can sweetened condensed milk

1 container whipped topping

Beat egg whites until fluffy. Add sugar slowly. Mix in egg yolks and beat for 2 minutes. Add flour and baking powder. Add milk and vanilla and mix for 5 minutes. Bake in a 9 x 13 in. baking pan for 30 -40 min. at 350 degrees.

While baking, blend the 3 milks. While cake is hot, poke toothpicks all over top of cake and then carefully pour milk over top of entire cake. Refrigerate till cool. When cool, spread whipped topping on top and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
