GERMAN SPONGE CAKE
separate 3 eggs whip whites of eggs, set aside beat yolks add 1/2 cup of sugar and 3 tbsp water to this. MIX..4 tbsp cornstarch 4 tbsp flour dash salt 1 tsp baking powder mix dry ingredients together, add to yolk mixture. FOLD whites in the yolk mixture, keep folding gently until mixed through. have a flan pan sprayed well with Pam [very important] bake 20 min. 325 oven.
TOPPING.. Mix one pkg of lemon pie filling ,let cool. Have nutir-whip whipped up and fold some of the whip in the lemon pie filling. Place on top of the sponge cake.. This makes for a very light dessert and very tasty you can decorate with slices of lemon peel , dollops of whip cream around the top ..etc..
