Chocolate Clove Cookies

Makes 50 Cookies

2.1/2 cups flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 cup cocoa
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 large eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup Crisco, melted & then cooled

Mix together 2 cups flour, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa, & spices. Make a well in the center. In separate bowl, blend together the eggs and sugar. Then add milk and melted Crisco. Mix well. Then add to the flour mixture. Mix everything up with wooden spoon. Mix in remaining 1/2 cup flour. Wrap and chill overnight. Form dough into 1 inch balls and bake on wax paper lined baking sheet at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Let cool completely.

To make frosting, mix together 1/2 cup milk, 1 tsp. cloves, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 2 cups powdered sugar, and 1/2 cup cocoa. If too stiff, add a bit water. Frost cookies using a small butter knife. Let frosting dry.
