Maple Walnuts From: Christine,.IA 1/4 c. butter 1/4 c. pure maple syrup 2 T. water 1 tsp salt 4 c. walnut halves
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Line a 10 by 15 inch jelly roll pan with foil. Combine butter, syrup, water and salt in a large saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Mix in the nuts, toss gently to coat them. Spread the nuts in a single layer in the prepared pan. Bake for an hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Break the nuts apart and store in an airtight container
