Fish patties (that taste like fish).
1 lb raw, fresh fish fillet (preferably haddock and pollock) 1 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 small onion 1 Tablespoon potato starch a dash of pepper a dash of nutmeg 1/2 cup of milk.
Grind fish and onion with salt, or cut it in your food prosessor. Add starch and spices, and add milk a little at a time while stirring. The dough should be fairly stiff and a little "long" - a little gooey.
Make patties directly with a spoon into a skillet with half oil, half butter, and fry until brown on both sides. Medium to low heat.
Serve with plain boiled potatoes, sour cream, pickled gherkins and raw shredded carrots in a lemon dressing. |
