Mountain Dew Jelly
From: Jerry Roush
Newsgroup: rec.food.cooking
Date: 1-7-99

3 1/2 cups Mountain Dew
2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
4 1/2 cups sugar
1 pkg Sure Jell pectin.

I found out that this boiling step is not necessary:
[Pour the Mountain Dew and lemon juice into a large (6-8 qt) pot. Bring to a boil, and allow to boil 3 min. (at this point, I let it cool slightly, then followed the Sure Jell directions).]

This is basically the same as Sure Jell's recipe for elderberry jelly, with the lemon juice amount halved, and the juice increased to 3 1/4 cups instead of 3. It also works if you use 1/4 cup of "no pulp" orange juice instead of the lemon juice.
