Taffy Apple Dip

1 8-oz package cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup salted peanuts, chopped

Your choice of apples, sliced and dipped in lemon or orange juice to retard oxidation (or in the language real people speak - to keep the slices from darkening) While you're slicing and preparing the apples, have the kids mix together the rest of the ingredients. You may also add cinnamon or nutmeg, if you wish. Should your children not care for nuts, replace them with raisins or dates. When dip is thoroughly mixed and apples prepared, spoon dip into a small bowl, set on a platter and surround with the apple slices. Let the kids grab and dip to their hearts' content.
