PICKLED COLESLAW
1 very large head of cabbage( shred long strips ) 3/4 cup sugar 2 large white onions, sliced 1 tsp salt 1 cup white vinegar 2 tsp prepared mustard 1/4 cup sugar 3 tsp celery seed 3/4 cup salad oil
Toss cabbage, onion and 3/4 cup sugar with salt. mix well. Let stand while making the dressing. Mix vinegar,mustard,1/4 cup sugar and celery seed together in a sauce pan, bring to a boil. Add oil. Pour over cabbage mixture. Stir and chill over night. Will keep in the fridge for several weeks. |
