Sausage Dressing From: Jen,FL 2 loaves of white bread, toasted 12 med. onions 5 stalks celery 1 lb. hamburger 1 lb. Jimmy Dean pork sausage (Sage flavored if you can find it, otherwise mild is fine) 4 eggs, slightly beaten 2 T. salt 1 Tsp. pepper 1 Tsp. sage 2 T. poultry seasoning 1 jar of sliced mushrooms (optional)
Brown the meat and drain fat. Chop onions and celery into pieces. Put the pieces, a handful at a time, with a little water into a blender to make a puree. Add this to the meat and simmer about 10 mins. Add the seasonings and mushrooms. Let this mixture cool. Add the eggs and mix. Moisten the toasted bread by holding it under running water and wringing out the excess water. Crumble the bread into the meat mixture. Thoroughly mix the bread and meat. Use your hands for the best results. Put into a large pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hr.
