Cracklin Corn Bread:
2 c.cornmeal 1/2 c.all-purpose flour 1 tsp.salt 1 tsp.baking soda 1 tsp.sugar 1/2 c.cracklins 2 c.buttermilk 1 egg,beaten 1/4 c.bacon drippings
Combine first 6 ingredients in bowl.Add buttermilk,egg & bacon drippings.
Stir till dry ingredients are moistened.
Spoon batter into preheated greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
Bake @ 450 degrees F. for 40-45 or till done.(Or may be baked @ 450 degrees for 20 minutes in a preheated greased 10 inch cast iron skillet.)
