Pecan Blondies rec.food.cooking/Mvadaloca (1996) Yield: 36 bars

1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 cup margarine or butter 2 tsp vanilla 2 eggs 1 1/2 cups flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp nutmeg 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 cup chopped pecans 1 Tbsp powdered sugar
Heat oven to 350 F. Grease 13-9-inch pan.
In large bowl, beat brown sugar and margarine until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs; blend well. Add flour, baking powder, nutmeg and salt; mix well. Spread in greased pan. Sprinkle with pecans.
Bake at 350 F for 18 to 28 minutes or until set and golden brown. Cool completely. Sprinkle with powdered sugar; but into bars.
