CHOCOLATE BREAD PUDDING WITH HARD SAUCE
2 cups milk 2 squares unsweetened chocolate 1/4 cup margarine 4 cups coarse bread crumbs (tear slices) 1/2 cup sugar 2 slightly beaten eggs dash salt dash vanilla
Heat the milk, chocolate and margarine in large sauce pan until melted. Put bread in a large mixing bowl. Pour chocolate mixture over bread, add sugar, eggs, salt and vanilla, mix well. Pour into greased casserole dish. Place casserole into a pan with 1-inch hot water on rack in 350F oven. Bake 1 hour. Serve warm, topped with hard sauce.
Hard Sauce: 8 TBSP butter or margarine 2 cups confectioner's sugar 4 TBSP evap milk vanilla
