Recipe: Mixed Nut Bars

Mixed Nut Bars
rec.food.cooking/Damsel in dis Dress (1997)

Base
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)

Filling
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup white syrup
1 tablespoon water
6 oz. butterscotch chips

Topping
12 oz. mixed salted nuts

For base: Mix ingredients, pat in 9x13-inch cake pan, and bake at 350F for 10 minutes.

Pour filling onto baked base, then distribute mixed nuts over filling. Bake at 350F for 10 minutes.
