Shrimp Po' Boy alt.cajun/Michael DeHart
If you are going to make an authentic PO-Boy you better know how to deep-fry . If you want a good tasting shrimp Po' boy try using this recipe.
1. Batter your shrimp (or catfish, oysters, whatever) in a batter made from flour, milk, egg and some Tony C's. Any Generic Cajun spice will do but Tony's makes it better. You may have to experiment with the spices to get the taste you want but you'll find it.
2. Trim some of the excess batter (not too much)
3. Take you a fresh French bread loaf and butter both sides (I like to add a little garlic powder but that's up too you).
4. While you are deep frying your shrimp, put your bread in the oven (for crispy top) or microwave (for soft top) and heat until the butter melts. Take out the bread and add mayonnaise (if you can get the type they use in sub shops like Blimpies or Subway so much the better)
5. On one side of the bread layer your vegetables in this order: Tomatoes, onions, pickles, then lettuce.
6. Put your shrimp on the clean side and carefully complete the PO' BOY.
It's that easy.Bon Appetit
Note: you can heat up the whole PO' BOY once its complete if you like!
