One Pot Beans and Beef rec.food.recipes/Dancer (1999)
1 pound ground beef 5 strips bacon, chopped 1 cup chopped onion 2 (13-16 oz) cans pork and beans 2 (16 oz each) cans kidney beans, drained 1 cup catsup 1/4 cup brown sugar 3 tablespoons vinegar 1 teaspoon salt Dash of pepper
Brown ground beef in Dutch oven, drain off fat and set meat aside. In same pot brown bacon and onions; drain off fat. Return meat to onion-bacon mixture in pot and add remaining ingredients. Mix together well and cook covered on low heat (or in low oven) for several hours until well heated through and flavors blend.
Serve with coleslaw and homemade rolls or biscuits.
