Grilled Cheese with Olives rec.food.cooking/Bob Brunjes
This is kind of a pain to do, but my wife and I love it.
Slice your cheese to half the thickness you would normally use for a grilled cheese sandwich. Slice a bunch of green olives; stuffed is fine. Cover the bread with 1/2 thickness slices of cheese. Cover this cheese with olive slices, all contiguous and laid flat (this part is the pain), cover with the other 1/2 thickness of cheese. Top with the other slice of bread and grill as normal. The olives should be immersed in melted cheese.
OOh, it just occurred to me- this could be good with jack cheese, although we always use Tillamook. |
