Peachy BBQ Spareribs (oven method) net.cooks/Wayne Thompson (1985) 4-6 servings
Moons ago my MOM made this for all us kids. Wouldn't eat it (ribs and peaches? YUCHH!). Years (literally) passed. Well, if you hadn't guessed, when I tried it, I decided to post it to the net (as soon as I grew up).
3 lbs. pork spareribs, cut into serving size pieces 2 tsp. salt 1 (#2.5) can cling peach halves 1 cup ketchup 2 Tbsp. worcestershire sauce 1 Tbsp. instant minced onions or 1/4 cup minced onions 2 Tbsp. flour 2 Tbsp. prepared mustard 1/2 tsp. ground cloves 1/2 tsp. pepper
Preheat oven to 375. In shallow roasting pan, arrange ribs, meaty side up; sprinkle with 1 tsp. salt. Drain peaches, save syrup.
In saucepan, blend 1 cup syrup with ketchup, worcestershire, onion, flour, cloves, 1 tsp. salt, and pepper. Heat to boiling; pour over ribs. Bake about 1 1/2 hour, or until fork tender, turning once.
Arrange peaches around ribs and bake about 5 minutes basting with sauce.
