Tortilla Flats Source: Lawry's California Center Servings: 1
1 wheat flour tortilla* vegetable oil (for frying)
1 tbsp butter, melted 2 tbsp sugar 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1 scoop vanilla ice cream strawberries or fresh peaches, sliced 1 tbsp slivered almonds, toasted
*Please note: Cornmeal tortillas CAN'T be substituted because they do not take on the texture of pastry when fried.
Combine sugar and cinnamon and reserve. Heat oil in a skillet and fry tortilla on both sides until golden brown and puffy. Drain on a paper towel.
Brush tortilla with melted butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Top with ice cream and garnish with fruit and nuts.
