Giant Sugar Cookies

1 cup crisco
2 cup sugar
2 eggs, separated
4 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 cup evaporated milk
1 tsp vanilla

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease cookie sheets.

Cream shortening, sugar, & egg yolks until fluffy. Mix flour, salt, and soda; set aside. Mix milk, & lemon juice, add vanilla. Add alternately to shortening mixture.

Beat egg whites until fluffy, fold in.

Drop by tablespoonfuls at least 3-inch apart. Flatten slightly with back of a spoon. Decorate with colored sugar, cinnamon sugar (that's what I use!), jimmies, etc.

Bake until lightly browned on edges.
