My mother used to make this for us back when flank steak was cheap (remember that?!). Flank steak was on sale here recently so i put one in the freezer, which came in handy last Sunday for a quick and easy dinner.
Easy Grilled Flank Steak
2-1/2 lb. flank steak Garlic powder Worcestershire sauce 1 bottle Chili Sauce (the tomatoey kind sold next to the ketchup – I like Bennett’s or Heinz brands)
I lightly score a wide diamond pattern on each side of the flank steak, but that step is optional. Sprinkle both sides liberally with garlic powder and worcestershire, and rub in well. Coat both sides with the whole bottle of chili sauce and let marinate for a little while. Grill over medium-hot coals (5 minutes first side, 4 minutes second side), allow to stand a full 5 minutes before carving against the grain at an angle, making very thin slices. |
