Pecan Crumb Apple Pie Recipe By: Goldie Burns, The Columbus Dispatch Servings: 8
2/3 cup granulated sugar 1/4 cup flour 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 6 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples 1 unbaked deep-dish pie crust (9-10-inch)
Crumb Topping 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 cup flour 1/3 cup butter 1/3 cup chopped pecans
Heat oven to 400. Put a baking sheet in the oven to heat.
In a large bowl, toss together granulated sugar, 1/4 cup flour, the cinnamon, nutmeg and apples. Spoon into crust.
For Crumb Topping, combine brown sugar and 1/2 cup flour; cut in butter.
Stir in pecans. Sprinkle over the apples.
Place on the heated baking sheet and bake 40-50 minutes.
