Marshmallow Frosting Source: Dear Daughter, Time Tested Recipes of Five Generations Cookbook by Ella Mae Tucker(Favorite recipes of the last 100 years...including many Ozark dishes).
2 egg whites,unbeaten 1 1/2 cups sugar 5 Tbls. water
Combine in a saucepan & place on medium-low heat, beating while cooking till mixture stands in peaks.
12 large marshmallows, quartered 1 tsp. vanilla
Remove pan from stove & add marshmallows & vanilla, beat till thick enough & cool enough to spread.
