ASIAN-STYLE ONION SALSA
This recipe is part of my beloved collection of Salsa recipes. It is excellent on tuna, burgers or grilled steak.

1 tablespoon sesame seeds
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon oriental sesame oil
1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper
1 cup finely chopped sweet onion (such as Maui or Vidalia)
1/4 cup chopped cilantro or thinly sliced green onions
2 tablespoons finely chopped red bell pepper

Place sesame seeds in heavy small skillet. Stir over medium-low heat until seeds are light golden, about 2 minutes. Cool. Whisk lime juice, sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar and crushed red pepper in medium bowl to blend. Add sweet onion, green onions, red bell pepper and sesame seeds. Season salsa to taste with salt and pepper; toss to blend. (Can be prepared 2 hours ahead. Cover and chill.) Makes about 1 cup.
