Tuna Sauce for Spaghetti rec.food.cooking (1996)
…my boyfriend makes a regular red spaghetti sauce, except he uses canned tuna (!) instead of meat. I really thought I was going to hate it, but he's a very good cook so I decided to trust his judgment and try it. it was EXCELLENT, believe it or not. I loved it. That's a common Italian way of serving spaghetti- alla tonno! - Michael Edelman Marcella Hazan made the discovery that if you add the (canned) tuna at the end, so that it doesn't cook, the flavor is much better. Having tried both ways, I am inclined to agree with Marcella. - Mike Brandt
