Bread and Cheese Tuna Bake (serves two) rec.food.cooking/LeiG (1996)
Saw this on TV and it works good. A good luncheon dish with a salad or without.
6 slices of bread 2 cans of tuna, drained 8 oz shredded cheese or sliced cheese (I used what I had which was shredded mozzarella and American cheese) ground pepper(I used ground black & white) garlic powder 4 eggs, beaten 1/4 cup milk
1. Spray or grease a loaf pan.
2. Lay down two slices of bread.
3. Cover with one can of the drained tuna.
4. Sprinkle with garlic powder and pepper to taste.
5. Sprinkle with 1/2 the cheese.
6. Repeat steps 2-5.
7. Top with remaining two slices of bread.
8. Press down firmly.
9. Mix egg and milk, add a pinch of salt if you like, pour it over.
10. Press down good.
11. Let stand about 10 minutes.
12. Bake in a 350 deg oven for about 1/2 hr or until eggs are set.
13. Let sit a couple of minutes on the counter.
14. Cut in half crosswise to serve two.
