Peter Pan Peanut Butter Cookies
rec.food.baking/wazie (1996)
From : Ann Harikal
Makes : 54

My Mom says that this recipe came from Peter Pan Peanut Butter not to long after it first came out.

1 cup shortening
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar -- packed
2 each eggs -- beaten
1 tablespoon milk
2 cups flour -- sifted
1 teaspoon baking soda

Combine well: shortening, salt, and peanut butter Add both sugars gradually and cream well. Add beaten eggs and cream well. Sift flour and soda and add to first mixture. Mix well. Roll into a ball (about size of walnut), place on cookie sheet and press flat with fork.( It gives lines in the cookies.)

Hints:
Chill dough in refrigerator
Use sugar or flour on fork to keep dough from sticking. My favorite is sugar.
