This is for the time when you crave Chocolate and something gooey. Rich and YUMMY!!! People will ask you for the recipe! Easy Too!
Chocoholic Cake
2 cups flour 2 tsp. baking soda 4 Tbs. cocoa 1 cup sugar pinch salt
1 cup salad dressing or mayo (I use Mayo) 1 cup cold water 1 tsp. vanilla
Mix first 5 ingredients together and then mix in the 3 other ingredients and mix well. Pour into a greased tube or bundt pan. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes. Invert on a large plate and let cool. Just before serving pour the following WARM sauce over each piece or over the whole cake if presenting the cake whole.
Chocolate Sauce
1/2 cup cocoa or 2 sqs. unsweetened chocolate 1 cup sugar 1 cup hot water 1 Tbs. cornstarch 1 Tbs. butter 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla
Melt chocolate in double boiler. Gradually add hot water & stir until smooth. Dissolve cornstarch in a little cold water & add to chocolate mixture with the sugar & salt. Cook & stir often until thick & smooth (about 10 minutes). Remove from heat & add butter & vanilla. Best if eaten warm on the cake but cold is good.
