Garlic Hot Dogs From: Family Circle Barbecue Cookbook Servings: 8 ("For a zesty taste treat, try marinating hot dogs in garlic and oil before cooking").
1/2 cup olive or vegetable oil 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 lb. hot dogs 2 cups frozen chopped onions 8 toasted hot dog buns Hot mustard
1. Heat oil and garlic in medium size saucepan for 5 minutes, remove from heat, add hot dogs, cover saucepan. Marinate hot dogs, turning several times for at least 2 hours.
2. Measure 2 Tbsp. of the garlic oil into a large skillet on grill, 4 inches from the coals. Saute onions in oil till golden. Remove from skillet, reserve.
3. Add remaining oil and hot dogs to skillet, brown hot dogs, turning several times, 5 minutes.
4. Divide onions among toasted buns, add hot dogs and top with mustard. |
