Onions Baked in Their Skins Yield: Allow 2 onions per serving
Wash medium onions, dry and bake in a preheated 375 degree F. oven till tender, about 1 1/2 hours. (Or may be grilled over coals, check for doneness by squeezing, just like you determine a baked potato is done, being careful they don't explode).
Cut a slice from the root end of each onion and squeeze out the center. Discard the skins. Season with butter, salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. |
