MOM-MOM'S HAM AND CABBAGE (1952)

1 Medium head cabbage
5 to 6 Medium potatoes, peeled and quartered
1 Medium ham hock
2 to 3 Cups chopped leftover ham
Water
Salt to taste
Pepper

Peel off outer leaves of cabbage, then cut into quarters. Put into a large pot on the stove. Completely cover with water and add ham hock, ham, salt and pepper. Cook covered, for 40 to 45 minutes at a medium boil. Add potatoes and cook until done. Let it rest for 1/2 hour. Heat up again and serve.
