Mock Whipped Cream Frosting

3 tbls. flour
6 tbls. butter
6 tbls. shortening
dash of salt
3/4 cup milk
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Blend flour and milk - cook slowly, stirring constantly until thickens. Cool. Cream butter and shortening - add sugar slowly - beat 4 minutes. Add flour mixture and beat 4 minutes more. Add vanilla and salt. Good for frosting cake but not for decorating.
