Peanut Butter Ice Cream

1 1/2 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 cup half and half
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon smooth peanut butter
6 oz. chocolate bar with nuts, cut or broken into small piecesIn the top of a double boiler, melt peanut butter. When very soft, add sugar and mix thoroughly. Gradually add 1 C. of half & half, stirring constantly. When well mixed and sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and add remaining half & half and cream. Stir. Chill thoroughly (overnight).

Pour into ice cream maker. Add chocolate pieces when ice cream is almost at desired consistency.
