Smoked Ham, Jack Cheese Batard Yield: 6 Servings Source: Lesley B. Fay, FINE FOODS of SONOMA 1 loaf sourdough bread,(batard) 2 lb monterey jack cheese,sliced 1 lb sliced smoked ham 10 oz pineapple & red pepper relish
Slice bread down the middle and lay flat. Layer cheese on both sides and place under broiler until cheese is soft and starts to bubble. Remove from oven and add ham and relish. Close bread, wrap in foil and place in oven at 350 for 10 minutes. remove, let sit 5 minutes, slice and serve.
