Hot Dogs Cooked in Beer rec.food.recipes/Betty Kohler (2000)
Several decades ago, I was a member of "Mother of Twins Club". One of the events was a meeting held at the Olympia Brewing Company in downtown Portland Oregon. We were served all the hotdogs on buns that we could eat and all the beer that we felt like drinking.

The cooking procedure was quite simple. Heat a quantity of beer slowly to simmering, placing the hotdogs in the beer. Nothing special added but... with the specific instruction just to simmer, never to boil. This simple mixture simmered for about an hour.
The hotdogs were delightful, spicy and a taste beyond any expectations. We all just expected hotdogs and we got something really special.
My husband, (the father of the twins) adopted this simple method to his own use, adding granulated garlic to the mixture. We used this "recipe" for years. - Betty E. Kohler
