Bangkok Burgers

I got the recipe for these burgers when I lived in Bangkok in 1970. They are very filling! Sawadii Ka :-)

1 lb. ground chuck
1/4 c. sliced mushrooms
8 oz. water chestnuts
3 tbs. teriyaki sauce
2 tbs. cornstarch
1 tbs. dry sherry
1 tsp. sugar
1 tps. salt
1 tsp. ground ginger root
1 egg, beaten

Using food processor or blender, puree together all ingredients except beef and egg until fine. Combine ingredients and blend well. Stir in ground beef and egg and mix well. Form into 1-inch patties. Place on broiler rack or grill about 6-inches from heat and cook until well done.
