Fiesta Burgers
alt.cooking-chien/Kristin (2000)

This one is a big hit at my house, even with my 7 year old!! Works great either on an outdoor grill or an indoor electric grill.

2 lbs. ground hamburger (leaner the better, turkey ok, Chicken not recommended)
1 small purple onion chopped fine (I use my salsa maker to chop it!)
1 can chopped green chilies
garlic salt
seasoned salt
pepper
4 Tbs. BBQ sauce of your choice
1/2 cup plain bread crumbs.
Tilamook sliced cheddar cheese

Mix all ingredients and form into medium thickness patties (thick patties wont get the onion cooked enough).

Grill according to your tastes, when ready to remove from grill, flip once more and add cheese while still on grill.

Serve on any kind of bun with any condiments you like on a burger (my fiancee also adds crisp bacon to his, he says it makes a world of difference).
