Café Expresso Brownies Source: La Cocina de Giovanna, Recetario # 13 by Chef Giovanna Huyke 12 bars
Layer-1: 1 box ready mixed brownies 1/2 cup water 1/4 cup oil 1 egg 2 tsp instant coffee
Layer-2: 1/4 cup soft butter 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 egg 2 tsp instant coffee 1 tsp vanilla 1 cup chopped nuts 3 bars chopped milk chocolate
Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix all ingredients in Layer-1. Drop the mix into a pre-greased rectangular (13x9x3)baking pan. Bake for 25 minutes. In the meantime, mix all ingredients of Layer-2. When Layer-1 is ready, add all mixed ingredients of Layer-2 over Layer-1. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until done. Let it rest before slicing in squares. It is delicious, particularly for Italians, Puerto Ricans & South Americans that love coffee flavor.
