This recipe is from friends (now deceased) who owned a Chinese Restaurant and also gave cooking classes. This can be served as part of Dim Sum or part of a meal.
Chinese Stuffed Green Peppers
6 medium green peppers, cut in 4-8 pieces STUFFING 1 teaspoon Cornstarch 1/4 pound fresh Minced Pork 1 pound fresh Minced Shrimp 1 tablespoon Onion, minced 1/2 teaspoon Salt 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce SAUCE 2 tablespoons Oil 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce 1/2 cup beef or chicken broth 1 teaspoon cornstarch few drops sesame oil
Mix stuffing ingredients together really well. Clean green peppers. Place peppers in a saucepan with 2 cups boiling water, slightly salted and with 1 teaspoon oil. Simmer 3 minutes. Drain. Sprinkle a little cornstarch inside each pepper piece. Fill with stuffing. Stir-fry gently in a wok, frying meatside first. FOR SAUCE: In a pot, mix all the ingredients together and cook for 2-3 minutes. Pour over cooked peppers on a platter.
