African Curried Beef Pie Yield: 6 Servings
3 tbsp Butter 2 cups Onions; chopped 2 slices White bread 1 cup Milk 2 lb Twice-ground beef 1 1/2 tsp Salt 4 tsp Curry powder 1/4 cup Ground almonds 2 Eggs
Melt the butter in a skillet; saute the onions 10 minutes. Soak the bread in the milk, drain, and mash smooth. Reserve the milk. Mix together the sauteed onions, bread, beef, 1 teaspoon salt, the curry powder, almonds and 1 egg. Spread in a greased 9-inch pie plate. Beat the remaining egg, salt and reserved milk. Pour over the meat. Bake in a 350-degree oven 1-1/4 hours. |
