Ginger Pennies
rec.food.recipes/Robert Foster/1996
Makes about 300!

3/4 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 beaten egg
1/4 cup molasses
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. cloves, cinnamon, ginger

Cream butter, sugar, egg and molasses. Add dry ingredients. Stir until smooth. Put dots of 1/8 teaspoons 1 inch apart on buttered cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 5 to 6 minutes. They shouldn't be larger than a quarter or they'll be tough. I find it easy to put the dough in a pastry tube and pipe the dots on to the cookie sheet.
