Wings and Drumsticks in Sweet and Spicy Barbecue Sauce
4 turkey wings, cut into thirds, discard tips 4 small turkey drumsticks 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 medium sweet onion, chopped fine 2 tablespoons brown sugar 3/4 cup ketchup 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard 1 teaspoon chili powder to taste Tabasco
Parboil the wings and drumsticks for 30 minutes.
Preheat the grill.
Meanwhile, in a saucepan, add oil and sauté onions about 2 minutes. Reduce heat. Add sugar, continue to cook and stir on medium heat for 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Add all other ingredients. Reserve half of the sauce.
Brush the drained turkey pieces with sauce.
Grill the wings and drumsticks on a lightly oiled grill about 5 inches from the heat. Brush often during the cooking process and grill about 15 minutes on each side.
Continue to grill until the internal temperature is 170 degrees F in the thickest part of the wing and 180 degrees F. in the thickest part of the drumstick.
Serve with reserved sauce.
