Spicy Oriental Beef Salad rec.food.cooking/Ariane/2001
1 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 lb. ground beef 1 tbsp. Worcestershire 1/4 cup fresh lime juice 1/4 tsp. cayenne 1 tbsp. sugar 1 tbsp. soy sauce 1 garlic clove, mashed and minced into a paste with 1/2 tsp. salt 1/3 cup chopped scallions 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
Optional: soft lettuce leaves for lining plates lime wedges for garnish
In a large skillet, heat oil over moderately high heat and stir-fry beef until no longer pink. Drain beef.
In a bowl, whisk together Worcestershire, lime juice, cayenne, sugar, soy sauce and garlic/salt paste. Add beef and stir to combine with dressing. Stir in scallion and cilantro and divide on two plates on top of lettuce leaf.
