Maple Walnut Bars

1/2 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup self-rising flour
1/3 cup butter (or margarine), melted
1 teaspoon maple flavoring
1 cup walnuts, coarsely broken
1/2 cup raisins

Combine sugar and egg, beating well. Add flour, butter, and flavoring; mix well. Stir in walnuts and raisins. Spread evenly in a greased 8-inch square baking pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool in pan; cut into bars or squares.
